FAQs
It is best to use outdoor lights with wattages of 80 and lower. A 40-watt bulb is suitable for paths, gardens, and other low-level areas in your yard, while a 40- to 80-watt bulb is suitable for driveways and lighting up large areas.
It is important to keep in mind that the larger the space, the more lumens you will require in your floodlight. Purchasing a flood light with passive infrared receivers (PIR) means that the floodlight will be activated when motion is detected. Also, keep in mind the beam angle when purchasing a LED flood light- if the angle of the light is wider, more area is covered by the light.
For floodlights to produce enough light to cover a large area, they need 700 lumens or more. Ensure that your floodlight does not shine in your neighbour's windows or on nearby properties. The lighting requirements for garden paths range between 100 and 200 lumens, depending on the style you prefer and how much light is required.
